Isaac Zones

Isaac Zones is an Oakland-based musician specializing in Jewish, spiritual, folk and family music. Isaac teaches music classes, leads prayer services, officiate lifecycle events, and songleads for community events, weddings and other celebrations. Isaac learned to play guitar at Camp Tawonga where he's been on staff almost every summer since 2001. Isaac loves to officiate Bar Mitzvahs with Bay Area B'nai Mitzvah all over the Bay Area.

Nathaniel Markman
Songleader
Nathaniel is a string instrumentalist, singer, and songleader who cherishes the sounds of people singing together and enjoys helping families find the perfect blend of live music for major life cycle events. He is the music director for the Bay Area wedding band Shamati and collaborates with a number of local professional musicians to create memorable live music experiences for wedding ceremonies, Bar/Bat/B mitzvahs and memorial services. In a previous life Nathaniel was a touring fiddle player and recording artist with bands such as Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Wildbirds, Moshav Band, and Craig Taubman.

Jonathan Ferris
Songleader
Jonathan is a Songleader for many Jewish events, as well as a Judaic Studies & Hebrew teacher for Kindergarten and will begin his 23rd year of teaching at Brandeis Hillel in San Francisco in 2021. A past recipient of the Diller Award for Excellence in Jewish Day School Teaching, Jonathan earned a Certificate in Day School Teaching from Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles as part of the DeLeT Program. He holds a multiple subject credential and a single subject teaching credential in music, and has been involved musically with both Congregation Emanu-El and Camp Tawonga since the early 1990s. In his spare time, Jonathan loves to create music with others, spend time with his family (including two crazy dogs) and backpack in the Sierras.

Robyn Jay
Songleader
Robyn Jay (they/them) is a Jewish songleader, musician, and educator based in the East Bay, California. Robyn fell in love with songwriting and performance at a Jewish summer camp in 2011, and they have been writing and performing original music for over a decade. They began pursuing Jewish music education in 2017 as a camp counselor and songleader at Urban Adamah in Berkeley. While at Urban Adamah, Robyn wrote three songs to teach Jewish ecological concepts to children, and these songs have become a prominent part of the camp’s repertoire. Robyn has been collaborating with Miriam Kanani since 2018, songleading, setting up live sound, and running live streams for B’ Mitzvahs in backyards, synagogues, and venues all over the Bay Area. Currently, Robyn works as a songleader and music educator at Temple Sinai in Oakland, and they continue to deepen their own connection to Judaism, learning Yiddish through YIVO and studying Talmud with SVARA.
